The only similarity between the Auris and the Prius are in its powertrain where the Hybrid Synergy Drive system comes with a 1.8liter engine boosting out some 98 horses. This is where you will get from zero to hundred in 10 seconds with less than 100g/km CO2 emission. The car is expected to start production in the United Kingdom at its Burnaston Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) factory near Derby. The car will be expected to start rolling out from Q3 onwards.
The Auris is able to get you 1.5 miles if you are using the full electric mode and at low speeds. In terms of design, Toyota has enhanced the aerodynamics as compared to the concept version but disappointingly there are no solar roofs here as shown then. Called the Full Hybrid Car, this means that you can choose to drive either the petrol, its electric motor or a combination of both. Typically, this is a 5 door hatchback model and it is part of Toyota’s plan to offer a hybrid version of every model.
Inside the car, you will enjoy its Gaucholino leather clad in blue which can be a bit annoying to be honest but then this is what they message is all about which otherwise is finished in pearl white. The designers surely has colour matching in mind when they were putting the touches into this where the hybrid blue illumination can be seen on its instrument cluster. Ultimately, the illuminating lights and such here are pretty cool looking.
There are 4 different driving modes where 3 of them can be activated whenever you choose. ECO, Power, EV. ECO is where the car goes into full hybrid efficiency and fuel economy, Power is mainly used for performance purposes while EV fully utilizes the electric motor. This function is only available in the full hybrid system. Essentially, with such a focus on green technology and reducing fuel consumption, it will not be surprising that this would be the direction that most car makers would be more than willing to move into.
