Toyota Malaysia introduces the new Vios

According to Kuah Kock Heng, the president of UMWT, the new Vios will reinforce the product concept with its new design which comes with new features on both the interior and exterior in terms of its looks and appeal. He said that it ‘captures a youthful design with advanced versatility and safety, coupled with enhanced sporty design, offers a new experience for potential customers,”

There would be 5 variants available in the new Vios, all of which comes with the 1.5 liter VVTi engine. You can choose between the entry level Vios 1.5J Manual, Vios 1.5J Automatic, Vios 1.5E, Vios 1.5G, or its top of the range Vios 1.5 TRD Sportivo which costs RM92,000. The Vios G is priced at RM87,300 while the Vios E is at RM81,500. As for the Vios J, they are priced at RM76,090 for the Automatic version while the manual version is priced at RM71,990.

Since the Vios came into our streets back in May 2003, UMW has sold more than 159,000 units. Most of the changes can be seen on the front and rears of the car as well as the cabin and the wheels. The 108 horsepower and 141Nm of torque 1NZ-FE 1.5 liter engine is mated with a 4 speed automatic or 5 speed manual gearbox transmission. To a large extent, the front grille follows a bit of the design spilled over by the bigger ‘Camry’ with silver fog lamp housing.

For the TRD Sportivo and the mid ranged Vios G, you get 15 inch alloy wheels while you also get new tail lights as well. Fittings inside the car include depending on the specifications, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist system and you would surely like the more equipped higher specs TRD Sportivo and G Spec versions as they come with the nicer rims, a better stereo system and rear disc brakes. The TRD also comes with sports suspension as well as the sportier body kit.
