Volkswagen launch new pick up, the Amarok

And yes, that is the case with this one. The tough looking and aggressive pick up truck is not only strong and all muscle, but it comes with excellent features as well. To begin with, let’s look at the engine. it comes with a 2.0 liter TDI engine which is pretty much Volkswagen trademark these days. It gets you up to 161 horses and another version which is lower in power at 120 horspower.

This car is a mix of technology with toughness, something which you will have difficulty finding especially with the current choices in the market these days. It would either you get a lot of robustness without comfort or the other way around. Apart from that, the Amarok also is huge with a length of 5.25mm while it has a1,555mm long and 1,620 wide deck which is superior as compared to Toyota’s Hilux. It can carry up to 1.15 tonnes of payload and could tow up to 2.8tonnes.

It also comes with a Rear wheel drive system or one which gives you an all time all wheel drive version which in VW’s terms the 4MOTION system which allows you to press a button to switch from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive system. It also comes standard with EDL (Electronic Differential Lock) system as well as an Off-Road ABS while the Hill Descent Assist could be activated when you are driving below 30km/h while ascending.

This is one car which is both spacious on the inside, huge on the outside but do not look overly bulky, which if translated into what it means is that it looks elegantly strong. Set to race in the Dakar Rally next January, this would most likely be one of the best offerings to have come out of VW’s factories of late with the demand for pick ups in the rise recently, and wouldn’t it be great to have a lot of power with lots of elegance to go with it?
