Good news for those waiting for the new Golf as the distributor of Volkswagen cars in Malaysia, Volkswagen Group Malaysia has officially launched the new legendary VW Polo GTI at the SIC (Sepang International Circuit) which was held together with the Scirocco R-Cup one-make race.
They have brought in the 3 door and 5 door versions which comes with similar specifications statting from the engine which comes with a 1.4 liter TSI system paired with a 7 speed Direct Shift Gearbox transmission. This gets you up to 178 horses and coming in standard is the XDS electronic transverse differential lock system which top speeds at 229 km/h and a 6.9 seconds acceleration from zero to hundred.
This means that it is about 30 horses more powerful that its previous version (which comes with a 1.8 engine). Also fitted in standard in this are the usual safety features like the ABS, EBD And EXSP while it is also fitted with nice looking 17-inch Detroit alloy wheels engulfed by the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE001 215/40 tyres.
Apart from that, they have also put in bi-xenon headlights and a panoramic tilt and slide sunroof. The paddle shifters too are a cool addition where you also get cruise control and the audio controls on the steering wheel too. The 3 door version is sold for RM132,888 while the 5 door version is priced at RM135,888.
