Webber wins Monaco as Red Bull leads standings

Vettel was close behind in the race where he finished just 0.4seconds behind the Australian. Coming in third was Robert Kubica on the of Renault while Felipe Massa of Ferrari was fourth. Lewis Hamilton finished fifth on the McLaren in the race which was filled with drama and accidents.

The Safety Car was called after Nico Hulkenberg of Williams hit the concrete barrier in the tunnel which also caused current world champion Jenson Button of McLaren to retire after his engine blew. He had started the race on eighth, a far cry from his recent performances. It was a team mistake which led to the blow.

Fernando Alonso of Ferrari too provided a lot of action in the race where he made numerous successful attempts to overtake those in front. Take note that Alonso has started the race from the pit lane as penalty for crashing in the final practice at the qualifiers. He made the moves in laps 11, 12, 15 and 16 and ended the race on seventh. Now that is motorsports.

It was a race to be forgotten for Williams as their other driver Rubens Barrichello too crashed out which then brought in the Safety Car for the second time. Pedro de la Rosa and Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber had to retire. Another freak accident involving Jarno Trulli of Lotus Racing and Karun Chandhok of Hispania Racing summoned the Safety Car again. 7 time world champion Michael Schumacher got himself into some controversy when he slipped up inside Fernando Alonso to claim the sixth position. His team mate Nico Rosberg finished eighth while Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi of Force India followed behind. Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari of Toro Rosso took the eleventh and twelfth places respectively with no other cars finishing the race including Malaysia's own Lotus Racing.
